Maui scuba diving---recreational yet educational
Hawaii has always been famous for its beautiful and stunning beaches and shorelines. Being at the cradle of the Pacific, it’s been in an advantageous area with regards to its water resources, that’s why people go there for surfing, swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving.
For recreation and learning, one of the tourists’ favored activities is Maui scuba diving. It’s because Maui is not only preferred for the beauty above the blue waters, but it is more loved for the beauty underwater. Maui scuba diving entices both new and experienced divers, because of the wealth of its marine life. It doesn’t only makes a fun dive but more importantly, an educational one at that, since new and fascinating creatures abound in the different dive sites. Maui scuba diving at its best With the many dive sites located in the area, it is best to group them to categories. Based on the location of the dive sites, these can be divided into Lanai Diving, Molokai Diving and Maui Diving. Under these sets, we can now highlight the specific dive points in detail. In East Lanai, the following sites can be enjoyed---Turtle Haven, Mikey’s Mysterious Manta Dive, Tons of Turtles, Shipwreck Area, Containers, Summer House, and Keomuku Point, where you can see and enjoy the turtles, whales, rays, coral reefs, and deep drift-offs. In Southeast Lanai, there’s the Oscar’s Reef, Seargent Minor, Seargent Major and Armchair, where you can be with the corals, schools of fish, swim-throughs, turtles, ledges, eels, dolphins, humpback whales, sharks, ridges, lava benches, and large pinnacles. In South Lanai, there’s the First Cathedral, Second Cathedral, Fish rock, Wash Rock/Tunnel of Love, Knob Hill, Pyramids, Monolith, Secret Cove, Paradise, Roundhouse, River Run and Emerald City, where you get to view the large lave tubes, caverns, boulders, crabs, lobsters, nudibrachs, fish, sharks, frogfish, eels, corals, dolphins, geological formations, rocks, lava structures, arches, pinnacles, large tunnels and crevices. In Southwest Lanai, they have two good dive sites, Lighthouse and Shark Fin , where you can follow the large sea creatures into the caves and boulders. In West Lanai, they have these dive sites---Barge Harbor South, Barge Harbor The Abyss, Fjeldstad’s Folly, Lava Jungle, Five Needles and Dragon Cave, where rock formations, walls and swim-throughs houses the marine life. In Molokai, there’s the Moku Ho’oniki Rock, Fish Rain, Hole in the Wall and Fish Bowl, where you can view the large rocks, sharks, whales, rays, seals, eels and wild sea creatures. In Maui’s proper, there are several dive sites to visit, namely: Tofuda, Pipeline, Balck Rock, Airport, Slaughterhouse, Honolua Bay, Mala Wharf, Hawea Point, Hyatt Reef, Coronet Reef, Rainbow Rock, MidChannel, Turtle Soup, Turtle Town, and Hideaway, where you’ll be amazed with the wrecks, reefs, turtle villages, sharks, frogfish, eels, octopus, and friendly photogenic fishes. You’ll definitely be awed at the uniqueness and magnificence of the colorful marine life in Maui. What can you say, Maui scuba diving is one of the dive voyages you’ll never regret.
